IRS Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN)

Enter the IRS taxpayer identification number of the validation subject. There are 5 types of identification numbers accepted

  • Social Security numbers "SSN"
  • Employer Identification Numbers "EIN"
  • Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers "ITIN"
  • Taxpayer Identification Number for Pending U.S. Adoptions "ATIN"
  • Preparer Taxpayer Identification Number "PTIN"
TINs for individuals are formatted as XXX-XX-XXXX and employer identification numbers (EIN) are formatted as XX-XXXXXXX. If you are unsure of the type you my leave the number unformatted.

Legal Name

Enter the validation subject’s name. If the subject is a company or entity, enter the full legal company name in this field. If the subject is an individual, enter the person’s full name First and Last Name if possible. If the subject is a crypto wallet, enter the wallet's public address here.

FATCA Foreign Financial Institution GIIN

If the subject has a Global Intermediary Identification Number (GIIN) enter it in this field. GIIN’s are issued to foreign financial institutions (FFI), financial institution (FI) branches, direct reporting non-financial foreign entities (NFFE), sponsoring entities, sponsored entities, and sponsored subsidiary branches. GIINs are issued by the IRS for compliance with Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) rules.

GLEIF Legal Entity Identifier

If the subject has a Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) enter it in this field. The LEI is a unique global identifier for legal entities participating in financial transactions. The LEI is issued under the Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF) rules by local operating units (LOUs) in each country. The LEI is formatted as a 20-character, alpha-numeric code.
