Fraud rewrote carrier onboarding. Vet the carrier and the payee in one pass.
Freight fraud — double-brokering, identity theft, reincarnated carriers — has pushed FMCSA into the largest registration crackdown in its history, with identity proofing rolling out to hundreds of thousands of registrants. Brokers are expected to know exactly who they're tendering to and who they're paying. TIN Comply checks the carrier's federal record and the payee behind it — authority, insurance filings, out-of-service orders, IRS TIN/name, W-9, and sanctions — in one check.
Portal, bulk, and API included — built for TMS and load-board integration.

No order on record
The regulator moved. The fraud moved first.
FMCSA's registration overhaul — identity proofing for new and existing registrants, sharply higher broker bonds, and vetting that has cut newly published authorities dramatically — is aimed at operators who abandon a bad record and re-register as someone new.
Chameleon carriers
A fresh identity on an old operation. FMCSA's identity proofing targets the re-registration; your onboarding check is where the federal record and the payee's tax identity get compared at all.
Double-brokering
The load moves through a party you never vetted; the payment goes to a party you never checked. The defense is verifying the entity you pay, not just the entity on the rate con.
Out-of-service orders
An OOS order is a federal stop sign. It's on the carrier's record the day it lands — but only if the record is checked, not just the rate confirmation.
The federal data has sharp edges. The card says so instead of guessing.
Carrier data rewards tools that know what it does not say. These are real states our results distinguish — the difference between a useful answer and a misleading one.
No filing ≠ uninsured
When FMCSA holds no insurance filing, the card says exactly that — and that intrastate carriers and brokers often carry no federal filing at all. The recommended action is to ask for a certificate of insurance, not to read the absence either way.
USDOT ≠ MC docket
The most common onboarding mix-up in freight. When a number comes back with no record, the card explains that an MC docket number and a USDOT number are different identifiers — and says to confirm the USDOT number before tendering, treating the miss as an absent record, not a finding.
Authority, by type
Common, contract, and broker authority reported separately with their statuses — because "has authority" is not one fact, and a carrier's broker authority is exactly the detail a double-brokering check needs.
-
The carrier record Allowed-to-operate status, out-of-service orders, authority by type, insurance filings on record, fleet size, safety rating, and operation type — with the retrieval date on every result.
-
The payee record Carriers are 1099 payees. The name/TIN combination confirmed against IRS records at setup — not discovered broken at filing season — with the W-9 collected in the same flow.
-
Sanctions & export controls 330+ lists including the export and trade-control lists that matter for cross-border freight, screened with fuzzy matching on every check.
